  • Company profile
KOIWAI was founding in 1973 as a foundry. Our main business revolves around the production of prototypes, mass production and additive manufacturing. In 2007 we added sand 3D printing systems and in 2012 metal 3D printing systems to our production facilities. We were the first in Japan to offer both of these technologies as part of our service bureau. KOIWAI boasts a range of machining and fabrication shops under our group umbrella, establishing a fully integrated production framework to handle all manufacturing processes, from materials to fabrication, right up to the finished product. In 2017 we formed JAMPT CORPORATION with Sojitz Corporation, transferring our AM business to them in an aim to expand our AM business. We plan to open a new factory in India in 2019.

Message to startups

Since our foundation, KOIWAI has focused primarily on mold casting for prototypes. Today, we have established a new business model for the casting industry, enabling faster manufacturing from the prototype phase to mass production using 3D printers. KOIWAI will work together with all our business partners to provide comprehensive support to anyone looking to launch their own startup. We also see this new project as a great opportunity to take off as a startup. Let’s aim for the world together! Are you ready?
